Log 7: Representing 3D Printing

Hope all's well, DHUM 250. This log entry is based on the exercise we conducted during class on Monday, March 11th. In your entry, please:

  • Use images.google.ca to find an image of a 3D printer in the news (e.g., in a publication by a popular news venue). In your entry, include a reference to the image, the name of its author/creator (if known), and the title of its source. Also include the search term you used to discover the image.
  • In a statement consisting of 50 to 100 words, explain how the technology is represented and to what possible effects on how people interpret it. What's shown? What isn't?
  • Use images.google.ca to find an image of a 3D printer fail, error, bug, or the like. In your entry, include a reference to the image, the name of its author/creator (if known), and the title of its source. Also include the search term you used to discover the image.
  • In a statement consisting of 50 to 100 words, comment on the relevance of circulating images of failed 3D prints. Why do this, and to what effects on how people interpret this emerging technology?

Get in touch with any questions or concerns. Thanks again!
